Steve Fizdale is President and Chief Executive Officer of Creative Design Concepts, Inc., located in Simi Valley, California, with a second office in Phoenix, Arizona. The firm specializes in full service turnkey design, specification, purchasing and installation of interior furnishings for timeshare resort properties, hotels and restaurants. The company also provides full remodel construction services.
Under his guidance, Creative Design Concepts has earned numerous industry awards for excellence in design which include gold ARDA awards for the conversion of the Lady Luck Vacation Club in Las Vegas in 2004, the renovation of the Maui Schooner resort in 2003, and the Sedona Summit Resort in 1997. Among the many silver ARDA awards are such resorts as Grandview At Las Vegas 2006 finalist, Lehigh Resort 2006 finalist, San Diego Country Estates, Casitas Del Monte in Palm Springs, Palm Springs Tennis Club, Rancho Manana in Arizona, and Tahoe Seasons in South Lake Tahoe
Steve Fizdale has been involved in the Vacation Ownership and Hospitality industries for over 25 years. He is an active member of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and is a frequent contributor to Developments Magazine.
He is a graduate of the California State University at Northridge (CSUN) in accounting and business administration. Steve has a strong general contracting background, having spent his first 10 years after college working in the family construction business. He's been married 41 years and has two children.
Steve has been a leader in the establishment of industry quality standards for interior furnishings and continues to work with many developers and management companies, helping them establish such standards for their operations. He believes in and is fully committed to an exceptional level of service and value for his clients reflecting the company philosophy: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
SUZANNE TURNER DOWNEY
Vice President Business Development
Creative Design Concepts, Inc.
Suzanne is Vice President of Business Development for Creative Design Concepts, a hospitality design and purchasing firm and is based in the Phoenix office. Suzanne has been with CDC for ten years and in the hospitality industry for over twenty-five years.
Suzanne’s previous experiences include working for an Italian land and hotel developer on the Pacific Coast of Mexico for six years as the interior designer and property manager for the luxury villas at the property. She also did the purchasing in Mexico and Guatemala for the villas and hotel boutiques.
While in Mexico she was also responsible for purchasing of architectural items and FF&E for Gosnell Builders, developer of the Pointe Resorts in Arizona. She eventually relocated to Phoenix and was head of their interior design department for the resorts, restaurants, model homes and commercial space.
Suzanne speaks Spanish and is a member of the Flying Samaritans. The organization provides medical services at their clinic in Baja, Mexico.
As an active member of ARDA, Suzanne has been a speaker at regional ARDA conferences and is a contributor to Developments Magazine.

JENNIFER MICHEL
Vice-President Design
Creative Design Concepts, Inc.
Jennifer Michel is Vice-President of Design for Creative Design Concepts Inc. Her responsibilities include meeting with clients, supervision of the Design Department, and providing interface with the Operations Department. She has been an integral part of the design team since 1998, when she started as the resource librarian. She has consistently earned several promotions to her current position as an associate of CDC for the past ten years.
She has worked on numerous renovations and conversions as well as new resorts, including the award-winning Grandview at Las Vegas. Jennifer was part of the design team that won the gold ARDY’s for the Lady Luck Vacation Club in Las Vegas, and the renovation at the Maui Schooner Resort in Hawaii. Prior to joining CDC, she was employed in the design department of Shapell Industries, a premier Southern California building company, which designs and furnishes model homes.
Jennifer is a graduate of Woodbury University, located in Burbank, California. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. She is an active NCIDQ Certificate holder. Jennifer is also an active member of the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH) and ASID. She is a native Southern Californian, and enjoys outdoor activities at the beach and in the mountains.
CHERYL TURNAGE
Senior Project Manager
Creative Design Concepts
Ms. Turnage is a FIDER accredited Interior Designer with over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality Design field. After graduating from the University of South Carolina and the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Studio and Interior Design, Cheryl began her career designing Resort properties, including Hotels, Timeshare properties and Golf Club communities. She has completed branded properties for Marriott, Embassy Suites, Residence Inn, Hilton, Homewood Suites, Divi Resorts and many other privately held properties throughout the United States and the Caribbean Islands.
Ms. Turnage has received awards from ASID, IIDA, NAHB and has been published in “Hospitality Design” and “Design” magazines. Having worked on the East Coast for One Design Center, Design Associates and Pamela Temples Interiors, Cheryl relocated to California approximately 7 years ago.
Cheryl is an active member of ASID, a member of NEWH, and is a certificate holder of the NCIDQ. She recently completed her studies in Textile and Surface Design at Otis College of Art and Design.
